COAST OF HELGELAND
THE WORLD'S MOST BEAUTIFUL COASTAL LANDSCAPE
More than 12,000 islands, islets and reefs, and almost as many fjords, bays and coves, form a coastal landscape like no other anywhere on the globe. When the weather gods shows their mild summer side, there is hardly any places more beautiful. Experienced sailors who after both one and two circumnavigations visit the coast, define the Helgeland coast as one of the highlights of the journey. But you do not have to sail to experience. The coastal road, FV17, gives you an unforgettable trip even if you travel on two or four wheels.

If your Mo i Rana visit is in connection with job, holyday, events, or you have chosen to settle here, - do as many have done before you: Spend some days at the coast. The shortest way from Mo i Rana is either to the village Nesna, or further north to the municipalities of Lurøy and Rødøy. Here you can go further west by ferries or speedboats, and you can reach the far end to the adventurous Lovund, Træna and Myken.
Along the coast you will find skilled tourism actors who give you both eagle and whale safaris, festivals and self-produced whiskey, fishing trips and accommodation of all categories.
