NO ONE CAN WIN ALONE
Organized sports have always been important in Mo i Rana, and several of the major sports teams in Northern Norway have their address here. Thanks to a large number of well-maintained sports facilities, many of the sport branches have good training conditions. The district has over the years got a number of olympic and world champions, and today's generation is no exception.

Natural conditions mean that skiing and cross-country skiing are important for children's sports in Mo i Rana
In recent decades, many new sports facilities have been established in Mo i Rana and in the surrounding district. Hall sports in particular, have improved conditions, but new artificial turf pitches both on Sagbakken, Ytteren and on Storforshei, 2.5 km north of the city, are also important grants for children and young people.
Fortunately, the spirit of hard work is still strong, and many of the facilities have been built and realized with hard work and support from local businesses. Rana municipality has made significant investments, and the newly restored Ranahallen is together the city's swimming park and heated outdoor football field, Moheia, the raisin in the sausage.
Motorsport has a special position in Mo i Rana, and Norway's main arena lays 25 km north of the city. Arctic Circle Raceway is internationally dimensioned and an important arena for national championships every summer. Many drivers consider the track to be one of the best in Europe.

It is worth noting that sports are also strong in the neighboring municipalities of Hemnes, Nesna and Lurøy, and there, too, the volunteer effort is formidable. It is almost impossible to live in Nord-Helgeland without getting involved in voluntary work of one kind or another, and this creates well-being and unity.

Rana Cycling Club is an important contributor to both national and regional cycling, and organized the National Championships in 2021
As in most other municipalities, the sports teams are organized in a sports council. The Mo i Rana Sports Council works for the best possible conditions for sports in Rana and functions as an arena for cooperation between the teams the municipality. Mo i Rana Sports Council distributes local sports funds to the local teams.
