World-leading decision support for Norwegian business

As part of a new collaboration, Nemko takes over as the new owner of SINTEF Norlab, the country's largest Norwegian-owned laboratory company. At the same time, Nemko and SINTEF are establishing a strategic collaboration on innovative solutions for the industry's transition to a more sustainable and digitized economy.

Norway has industry that is aggressive and well positioned to take part in the digital transformation towards zero emissions and a circular economy. This will require innovative solutions related to testing and certification of technology and environmental monitoring, where SINTEF's research expertise and Nemko's strong testing and certification environment complement each other very well. Together, the parties will lead the way in the development of new innovations related to sustainability and digitalization and strengthen the partners' role internationally.


The collaboration partners' strong market position and expertise in testing and verification of food/water, materials, sustainability, and life cycle analyses, environmental and emissions monitoring, as well as the collection and management of data through sensors and digital tools, are the areas emphasized in the new collaboration agreement. Services and business development will be aimed at market areas such as land-based industry, aquaculture, the electronics industry, and the battery value chain.

Through the collaboration, systematic innovation work for future-oriented solutions and increased competitiveness is strengthened, says research director Jack Ødegård at SINTEF.


- Together, Nemko and SINTEF will be able to support the industry in all phases of research, product development, production and market access, says Per Ove Øyberg, head of the Nemko Group.


After the change of ownership, SINTEF Norlab is now changing its name to Nemko Norlab.
